MAXXIS wire tires are manufactured in an extremely high quality. The carcass (60TPI) and the rubber compound are identical to the folding tire. That is why the wire tires are very light and weigh only about 30g more than the folding tires (while other wire tires often weigh more than 100g) - and they have a similar performance to folding tires. This specification Maxxis uses i.a. for the XC and the freeride wire tires and for most of the models of the OverDrive trekking series.
